Arf! Arf! It's National Pet Sitters Week

If it were up to Fido and Fluffy, National Pet Sitters Week would be once a month.
Pet Sitters International named March 7-13 National Pet Sitters week in honor of those who scoop the poop and care for our precious pets during the day.
Karla Green is a local pet sitter and owner of Karla's Pet Care in Elk Grove.
Karla encourages pet owners and pet lovers alike to celebrate Professional Pet Sitters Week. This international campaign seeks to educate pet owners about the advantages of in-home pet care, as well as to encourage the public to explore professional pet sitting as a viable and rewarding career opportunity, Green wrote.
Despite a slowing economy the demand for professional pet-care services remains high. Since 1994 PSI’s membership has grown to nearly 8,000 independent professional pet-sitting businesses with an average of 191 clients each. These sitters service more than 1.5 million clients and deliver more than 17.4 million pet-sitting engagements per year.
"I am continually striving to provide the best quality service to our pet-owning clients. It’s important to see the industry I love recognized on a global scale,” Green adds.
